Swim Meet 101
Summer swim and dive meets focus on fun and creating lasting summer memories for kids and parents alike! We know you may have questions, especially if you're a first-time team parent. We'll post FAQs here as we get questions.
- Is summer swim and dive mandatory for pool members?
- No; you may elect to sign up for both teams, either team, or simply be a supporter from the sidelines. Both teams offer great opportunities to learn, especially for newer swimmers and divers.
- Is there a mandatory number of practices each week?
- No; while we encourage team members to take advantage of as many practices as possible, we understand that everyone's schedules are different. If you need help getting your child to or from a practice, don't hesitate to ask another member on the team for help.
- Is volunteering mandatory for parents/guardians?
- Not at this time. Every meet, pep rally, and team event is 100 percent dependent on volunteers to make things happen, and we hope you'll share the Sailfish volunteer spirit and contribute where you can. Swimtopia does allow us to see who has (and has not) volunteered, and we prefer to avoid a mandate so long as a large number of individuals contribute their time and talent.
